NYC Man Had To Be Rescued Twice In 24 Hours While Hiking In AZ Mountains

A New York City man is going to pass on a third attempt to climb Arizona’s highest peak after two rescues.

Phillip Vasto tried getting to the top of Humphreys Peak and he got turned around in the brutal wind and winter weather, so he called 911. They rescued him safely, then gave Vasto hiker education info.

The next day, Vasto still underestimated the conditions and again had to call 911. This time he was injured so a helicopter brought him to safety.

This time, police strongly suggested he not try again until he’s more prepared. Vasto agreed. For the full story, click here
