New Jersey animal control is retelling a rescue operation for a “beautiful bird.”
A resident had spotted what he thought was someone’s pet parrot perched on a tree in a wooded area and called the police to have the “beautiful bird” rescue it. The caller even sent a photo of the parrot.
Animal Control Officer Jim Ferry was on scene quickly and approached the bird. That’s when he noticed the parrot was in fact ceramic. In a Facebook post, the Princeton Police Department said the animal is being “lovingly taken care of” until its owner is found.
