Man Called 911 Repeatedly To Report He Was Tired

The saying goes, play stupid games…win stupid prizes. Last week  61-year-old Daniel Schroeder of Evansville, Indiana won a trip to jail because of calls he made to 911 to tell them he was tired. Schroeder’s calls about being tired came in to dispatch one day after he pleaded guilty to a prior misuse of the 911 system; that previous case involved him calling police to report that he was upset that a female relative “was not following his rules.” He received a six-month suspended sentence on the previous charge “on the condition the defendant doesn’t call 911 unless it’s an emergency.” Since he lasted exactly one day before calling again, when he pled guilty this time the judge sent him to jail for 60 days.
