Meghan Markle Teams Up With Michelle Obama With Message For Women Voters

By News Aug 21, 2020 | 7:04 AM

Meghan Markle is making more public – albeit virtual – appearances as she and Harry settle down in California. Her latest? She teamed up with Michelle Obama’s non-profit When We All Vote yesterday for their “When All Women Vote” voter registration event.

The virtual “Couch Party” celebrated the 100 years of women’s right to vote, and Meghan said it’s an “honor to those who came before us” to make your voice heard at the polls – plus, she says it’ll “protect those who come after us,” too. Meghan has always repped community values, and at the event she said speaking up and exercising your rights – like voting during elections – is “what community is all about.”

“If we aren’t part of the solution, we are part of the problem. If you’re complacent, you’re complicit,” she added. “In the fraught moment that we find our nation, exercising your right to vote isn’t simply being part of a solution, it’s being part of a legacy.”

  • ONE MORE THING! Another exciting moment this week was when Meghan and Harry made their first joint appearance from their new home in Montecito. They appeared in a video call with leaders from the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust, working to make digital media force for good.
